Western Landowners Alliance

The Western Landowners Alliance (WLA).....

The Western Landowners Alliance (WLA) was established by landowners in 2011 to advance policies and practices that sustain working lands, connected landscapes and native species. WLA members steward approximately 14 million acres of deeded and leased public land in the American West. Through policy reform and on-the-ground stewardship, they are working to protect land and wildlife, restore watershed health, maintain wildlife corridors, promote economically vibrant rural communities and to keep working lands working.

Describing themselves as the radical middle, WLA has quickly emerged as a new, fresh voice focused on solutions rather than finger pointing. They focus on a variety of land policy issues such as land management, wildlife, conservation and best practices for ranchers and farmers. Jon Haubert serves as their media contact and works closely with communications staff to ensure their message is reaching journalists covering environmental and regulator issues.
